Being your own lord (or lady) with respect to your computer equipment
This page is intended for people who want to get rid of software solutions that put them in almost feodal dependencies. So called end user agreements or propriatory software licences are constructed in a way that actually does not allow you to "own" the product you bought but rather to "loan" it under certain circumstancies. It is to hope that such medieval constructs will be overruled in the near future by the democratic development of the computerized society, but as for now, you need a great deal of personal awareness to escape them.
